State contacts for Australian Consumer Law
From 1 January 2011, Australia will have a single, national consumer law: the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). The ACL will replace provisions in 17 national, State and Territory consumer laws and you can find details for each state and territory here.
The October edition of Licensing Line News reported on the implementation of the Australian Consumer Law here
Before 1 January 2011, State and Territory consumer laws will continue to apply, in addition to Commonwealth consumer laws. The State and Territory consumer laws will continue to be enforced and administered by each State and Territory's consumer agency.
