AQF First Edition July 2011
1 July 2011 was a significant day marking the
commencement of the new the Australian Qualifications Framework, First Edition July 2011.
The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is the national policy for regulated qualifications in Australian education and training. It incorporates the qualifications from each education and training sector into a single comprehensive national qualifications framework.
The new Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is the result of two years' development and consultation by the AQF Council, led by the Hon John Dawkins AO. It sets out recognised qualifications in Australia, from senior secondary certificates of education to VET and higher education.
The AQF First Edition July 2011 is now available on the AQF website here http://www.aqf.edu.au/Portals/0/Documents/Handbook/AustQuals%20FrmwrkFirstEditionJuly2011_FINAL.pdf
Workshops for accrediting authorities and those involved in accrediting and developing AQF qualifications will be held around Australia during late July, August and September. Details will be circulated to the relevant orgnisations in early July 2011.
Information sessions for others will be held later in 2011. Locations and dates will be advertised on the website and also through later editions of the AQF Council Newsletter (http://www.aqf.edu.au/Portals/0/Documents/Newsletters/AQF%20Newsletter%20July%20%202011.pdf).
Guidance materials are being developed to support the implementation of the AQF. These will be ready in line with the workshop schedule and also available through the AQF website.
