WHSQ announcement on high risk licensing implementation date
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland is advising registered training organisations that the delivery of "Licence to ..." units of competency from National Training Packages will not commence on 1 July 2010.
The nationally mandated assessment instruments that support the "Licence to ..." units of competency under the National Training Packages are currently in a national moderation review process .
At this time WHSQ is unable to notify RTOs of when the moderation process will be completed and the mandated assessment instruments released. As a result WHSQ cannot advise of an intended implementation date.
WHSQ is putting in place arrangements to enable high risk work licences and earthmoving and particular crane certificates to continue to be issued following successful completion of relevant units of competency in the following Queensland accredited courses until 30 June 2011:
- 30494QLD Course in Self-Erecting Tower Crane Operation
- 30497QLD Course in Operating Crane, Rigging and Scaffolding Equipment
- 30498QLD Course in Operating Pressure Equipment
- 30496QLD Course in Operating Loadshifting Equipment.
WHSQ will continue to keep RTOs notified as to the implementation date of the "Licence to ..." units of competency from the National Training Packages as soon as this information becomes available.
For further information on this matter contact WHSQ Licensing Services on (07) 3872 0692 .
