New swing stage courses in Qld

The Queensland Department of Education and Training (DET) has completed the accreditation of the two swing stage courses required under the Scaffolding Code of Practice 2009.

The two courses are:

  • 30825QLD Course in safe erection/installation of swing stage scaffolds
  • 30826QLD Course in the safe use of swing stage scaffolds.

Under the code, people are now required to have successfully completed the relevant course before they are legally allowed to erect or use a swing stage in Queensland.

As a prerequisite, people wishing to complete the 30825QLD Course in safe erection/installation of swing stage scaffold must hold a licence as an Advanced Scaffolder and/or licence as an Advanced Rigger.

Registered training organisations wishing to deliver either of the courses should contact DET's Centre for Training Materials on 07 3248 4675 or email ctm@deta.qld.gov.au for further details.
