Out of trade register established in Tasmania

Out of Trade register established in TasmaniaAn out of trade register has been established by Skills Tasmania to assist those apprentices and trainees whose training contract has been cancelled and wish to be considered for future apprenticeship or traineeship positions.

Once an out of trade apprentice or trainee has registered, prospective employers in the relevant occupation will be given the apprentice or trainee details. The register is only available to people who have previously worked as an apprentice or trainee and their training contract has been cancelled.

Their name will only appear on the register for six months unless they either re-register or they find employment in the meantime and request to be taken off the list.

Apprentices and trainees can register at www.skills.tas.gov.au/learners/support/outoftraderegister

Both an online form and a print (and post) version are provided, including details of where to post the printed form.

Organisations receiving the register include group training organisations, major employers of apprentices and trainees, Australian Apprenticeships Centres and other employers who may approach Skills Tasmania and have a genuine apprenticeship or traineeship vacancy. We have also recently added a registered training organisation, who can assist with placements.

If you would like to receive the listing of available apprentices and trainees on the register, and believe you can assist with placements, please contact Skills Tasmania by phone or email.
