Amendment to implementation date for NSW loadshifting changes
WorkCover NSW has advised that it has delayed the implementation date for the delivery by registered training organisations of four new loadshifting licensing units of competency.
The October edition of Licensing Line News reported on the interim decision in NSW to retain four of the five loadshifting classes not included in the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work as state-based certificates of competency from 1 September 2009, while transitioning to a registered training organisation-based training and assessment process from 1 January 2010.
WorkCover NSW has announced that the transition date has been delayed to 31 March 2010 to provide additional time for the determination to be made, and to allow registered training organisations sufficient time to add the relevant Queensland accredited course with the selected units of competency to their scope of registration.
