WA gas fitting training requirements

EnergySafety WA has released information regarding the training and qualification requirements for gas fitters in Western Australia.
The latest edition (47) of EnergySafety's Energy Bulletin details changes which came into effect at the beginning of the year around Class G gas fitting.
The qualification requirements have changed to:
- WA trained Plumber and Gas Fitter tradesperson:
- At the conclusion of the apprenticeship, apply to become a Class G gas fitter, restricted to the installation of natural gas and LP Gas.
- Non-WA Plumber and Gas Fitter tradesperson:
- Certificate III in Gasfitting
- Unit of competency unit CPCPGS4001A Plan, size and lay out consumer gas installations
- assessed as competent in the workplace.
