New dogging resource
A new training resource has been released that gives an overview of working as a dogger.
Doggers - Doing the Job focuses on the development of the verbal and non-verbal communication skills that workers need to perform dogging operations.
The resource is made up of a 19-minute DVD and an accompanying CD which contains printable learners' worksheets, which can be customised, as well as trainers' notes on how to use the resource.
The DVD cover the following topics:
- occupational health and safety
- plan your job
- select and inspect the gear
- hand signals
- whistles
- doing the job - the actual lift
- pack up the gear.
The DVD/CD could be considered as:
- learning support material for the units of competency CPCCLDG3001A Licence to perform dogging
- support materials for relevant units of competency from the CPC08 Construction, Plumbing and Services Integrated Framework Training Package including CPCCDO2001A Handle and use dogging tools and equipment and CPCCDO3001A Perform Dogging
- refresher training
- induction and orientation
- workplace training.
The resource was funded under the Workplace English Language and Literacy (WELL) Program and developed by Fran Haarsma Productions and Ideas That Work.
