Agrifood skills conference - Sydney

AgriFood Skills Australia will host its National AgriFood Conference on 24-25 September in Sydney.

The conference focus will be on a Skills and Workforce Summit to assist AgriFood Skills Australia and its partners in industry, government and training to set new strategies for the next 12 months and beyond.

The Skills and Workforce Summit makes the point that skills and workforce skilling solutions are more crucial than ever given the growing impact of the global economic crisis and of an expected movement of people towards AgriFood.

The National AgriFood Conference will seek to reinforce a strong national blueprint for skills, workforce development and policy reform, highlighting the vital role of AgriFood in the national economy, and raising key issues in terms of skills and workforce development.

Much of the approach this year will reflect the findings in the Environmental Scan. In particular, the second day will feature a new seminar style series of forums, aimed at providing high calibre direction and advice on topics such as attraction and retention of workers, adoption of higher skill levels and applying new research.
