NSW RSA training review

Comment is invited from licensees, managers, staff, trainers, industry bodies and members of the public on the review of responsible service of alcohol RSA training in NSW.

A discussion paper has been released that summarises issues being examined by the review. The RSA training review is considering:

  • a greater emphasis on practical issues in the workplace rather than on legalities
  • mandatory refresher training to keep workers up to date
  • recognition of interstate RSA training
  • requirements for trainers
  • the establishment of an RSA certificate holder database
  • replacing RSA certificates with photo ID to aid compliance
  • strategies to ensure RSA practices are effectively applied on the ground.

Submissions must be received by 21 August 2009.
