Industry currency research project

The Queensland Department of Education and Training is conducting a research project examining the skills and industry currency of Queensland VET providers.

As part of the research process a discussion paper has been prepared to support consultation with key stakeholders.

This research project and consultation process will focus on how Queensland VET providers are maintaining their industry currency in technical skills and knowledge of training staff. The Industry Currency research project will focus on best practice contemporary approaches Queensland VET trainers are using to maintaining industry currency of technical skills and knowledge.

In conjuction with the discussion paper, the project will collect qualitative data through face to face interviews and quantitative data through the questionnaires listed below. There are separate questionnaires for:

  • Industry
  • RTO owners/managers
  • Trainers
  • RTO administration staff
  • General VET stakeholders

The consultation period for the discussion paper closes on Friday 5 June 2009.
