Refrigeration licence handling information

The latest edition of the Australian Refrigeration Council newsletter Cool Change features articles about a number of different refrigeration handling licences.

The newsletter (PDF, 1.2MB) provides details on:

  • the development of new competency-based restricted licences for decomissioning refrigeration and air conditioning equipment
  • a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) allowing marine engineers holding a current and valid AMSA issued certificate of competency, or certificate of recognition as Marine Engineer Watchkeeper, Marine Engineer Class Two or Marine Engineer Class One to be exempt from holding a Refrigerant Handling Licence (RHL) after 1 March 2009.
  • the drinks industry transitional licence for technicians doing service work on equipment in the drinks industry.

The newsletter also includes information about how changes to the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Regulations 1995 will affect refrigeration and air conditioning businesses.
