Online skills gap tool launched
Government Skills Australia (GSA) has launched an online skill gap analysis tool designed and tested in collaboration with other Industry Skills Councils.
The SKILLGAP tool is part of a wider workforce development program 'Get Smart Get Skilled' that involves GSA Workforce Development Advisors undertaking detailed skills gap analyses of organisations through a multi-stage approach using the interactive online tool and combining intelligence gathered with simultaneous site visits.
A skills gap analysis examines the current and future needs and environment impacting on an organisation as well as the existing skill level of employees.
A skills gap analysis can identify what kind of training is required to give employees the skills they need and the ability to improve their performance and that of the organisation.
Key specific recommendations are provided to address the identified needs of the individual organisation. GSA can advise organisations on available funding opportunities and initiatives to support training.
