New series of Flexible Learning Toolboxes released

The latest series of Flexible Learning Toolboxes (Toolboxes) have been released and cover a range of industry areas which have skills shortages or e-learning resource needs.

Developed in consultation with Industry Skills Councils and Industry Training Advisory Boards, the Series 11 Toolboxes support the delivery of nationally endorsed training packages.

Toolboxes are high quality, cost effective, interactive e-learning and assessment resources featuring scenarios, images and activities. They are funded by the national training system�s e-learning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework.

Series 11 Toolboxes add to a collection of more than 100 existing Toolboxes across a diverse range of educational and industry areas.

Below is a summary of the Series 11 Toolboxes and industry areas and the training packages they support:

  • Aeroskills � Fit to Fly (11.01)

The Fit to Fly Toolbox supports the Diploma of Aeroskills and uses the fictional company, �Fit to Fly Aircraft Maintenance�, to guide learners through airworthiness administration regulations and requirements. Learners use real work situations dealing with different aircraft types to learn about the jobs carried out by a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer.

  • Health � Help from Within (11.03)

The Help from Within Toolbox is an engaging and contemporary resource that supports the Certificate II in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care. It immerses the learner in a media-rich environment including case studies, activities and interviews with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members and health practitioners working in Indigenous communities.

  • Water industry � Splash (11.04)

As well as including five compulsory units from the Certificate I in Water Sustainability, the Splash Toolbox provides basic generic skills that are transferable to other career pathways. Learners develop an understanding of community water use and sustainable water use practices.

  • Business services � My Micro Business (11.05)

The My Micro Business Toolbox supports the delivery of the core units in the Certificate III in Micro Business Operations, using learning activities and real-world case studies to equip learners with the skills and knowledge to develop a micro business proposal.

  • Financial services � A Balancing Act (11.06)

The A Balancing Act Toolbox addresses core industry and bookkeeping units from the Certificate IV in Financial Services (Bookkeeping). Learning objects and support materials within this Toolbox enable RPL (recognition of prior learning) and fast-tracked learning.

  • Process manufacturing � Optimake (11.07)

The Optimake Toolbox supports the Certificate III in Process Manufacturing, a new qualification developed for a range of sectors within the manufacturing industry. Learners develop generic manufacturing support skills, including how to carry out minor maintenance and identify equipment faults.

Two additional Toolboxes delivering event management and childcare training are currently in development.
