High risk units now in Transport and Logistics Training Package



Twelve high risk licensing units of competency are now available as part of the TLI07 Transport and Logistics Training Package.

Version 2 of the package, which includes the new units, was recently endorsed and is now available on the National Training Information Service.

The high risk units meet the requirements of the National Standard for Persons Performing High Risk Work (April 2006) and cover the following license classes:

  • Vehicle loading crane - TLILIC1208A Licence to operate a vehicle loading crane (capacity ten metre tonnes and above)
  • Derrick crane - TLILIC408A Licence to operate a derrick crane
  • Portable boom crane - TLILIC708A Licence to operate a portal boom crane
  • Slewing crane up to 20 tonnes - TLILIC808A Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 20 tonnes)
  • Slewing crane up to 60 tonnes - TLILIC908A Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 60 tonnes)
  • Slewing crane up to 100 tonnes - TLILIC1008A Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (up to 100 tonnes)
  • Slewing crane over 100 tonnes - TLILIC1108A Licence to operate a slewing mobile crane (over 100 tonnes)
  • Bridge and gantry crane - TLILIC308A Licence to operate a bridge and gantry crane
  • Non slewing mobile crane - TLILIC608A Licence to operate a non slewing mobile crane (greater than 3 tonnes capacity)
  • Boom type elevated work platform - TLILIC508A Licence to operate a boom type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)
  • Forklift - TLILIC108A Licence to operate a forklift truck
  • Order picking forklift - TLILIC208A Licence to operate an order picking forklift truck.

The continuous improvement of the Transport and Logistics Training Package has also resulted in:

  • the revision of 11 dangerous goods units
  • the removal of one dangerous good unit (Prepare for transport of packaged dangerous goods in bulk (TLID2807C))
  • the revision of 15 customs broking units
  • the deletion of 21 rail signalling units
  • the addition of one new stevedoring unit
  • the revision of Certificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport�Car Driving Instruction) (TLI41207)
  • the inclusion of five new qualifications
  • Certificate IV in Materiel Logistics
  • Diploma in Materiel Logistics
  • Advanced Diploma in Materiel Logistics
  • Certificate IV in Transport & Logistics (Road Transport�Heavy Vehicle Driving Instruction)
  • Certificate IV in Transport & Logistics (Road Transport�Motorcycle Riding Instruction).
