Beauty Training Package discussion paper

Service Skills Australia is currently conducting a project for the continuous improvement of the WRB04 Beauty Training Package.

As part of that process it has released a discussion paper providing specific proposals regarding skills development in the following areas:

  • intense pulse light (IPL) therapy and laser technologies
  • solaria
  • spa industry
  • aromatherapy.

Service Skills Australia is seeking feedback on the proposed actions that are outlined in this discussion paper.

IPL and solaria are two areas which have regulatory considerations and the discussion paper includes two specific questions relating to regulation and discussions with state and territory regulators on competency requirements in these areas.

Service Skills Australia encourages all stakeholders in these areas, including regulators and registered training organisations, to be involved and provide input into the skills and knowledge requirements of the beauty industry.

The beauty discussion paper will be available for comment until Friday 19 December.
