The national training system's e-learning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework), is hosting a series of events across Australia during November and December to showcase the successful application of e-learning by training providers and industry.
ACT e-learning showcase

Location: Canberra Institute of Technology, Reid Campus, Constitution Avenue, Reid, ACT
The ACT e-learning showcase will explore the innovative use of e-learning to deliver education and training. Join us to hear, see and learn from local registered training organisations with exciting examples of e-learning practices for learners located both in the ACT and across Australia. E-learning 08 is a celebration and showcase of technology enhanced education and training practices in New South Wales. You are invited to join colleagues from across the sector to explore ways in which new and emerging technologies can support learners and improve the delivery of training. This event will feature keynote speaker Mark Pesce, researcher, teacher and futurist; and will include a launch of the inaugural Horizon.au report by Larry Johnson and Alan Levine from New Media Consortium; hands on workshops; and Kate Carruthers will lead an interactive enterprise panel. E-nabling NT - taking the show on the road 08

E-nabling NT - taking the show on the road 08 aims to inspire and inform by showcasing technology for teaching and learning. This event will be travelling to 14 locations across the Northern Territory from 19-24 October. Visit the event nearest you to see how e-learning is skilling the NT; explore job and business training opportunities; access free training resources; and try, play and test out new technologies. The big VET es - e-learn, e-communicate, e-collaborate, e-innovate

The big VET es will explore the use of technology to support and deliver education and training. The event will host international speaker Jonathan Finkelstein from LearningTimes, an online community of education and training professionals. Mr Finkelstein will discuss and demonstrate how online communities can enhance and foster workplace and industry opportunities by creating a social presence in a virtual world. Mark Harris from Southbank TAFE will present his research on the retirement intentions of an ageing VET workforce and its impact on VET organisations, while Brad Beach from Gipps TAFE Victoria will explore virtual worlds in Second Life.
