New resources and infrastructure skill sets under development

SkillsDMC, the national industry skills council for the resources and infrastructure sectors, is proposing to include a series of Skill Sets in the new Resources and Infrastructure Training Package, which is currently under development.

The proposed Skill Sets are being developed to meet a number of requirements including some related to occupational health and safety, regulation and licensing.

The proposed Skills Sets include:

Leading Hand
Rouseabout Off Shore Oil and Gas
Leasehand On Shore Oil and Gas
Underground Ventilation
Site Safety Coordinator
Repair and Maintenance of Off-Road Vehicle Wheels and Tyres
Monitoring Heavy Vehicle Operations
Surface Shotfiring
Underground Shotfiring
Mine Mechanical Engineering
Mine Electrical Engineering
Mine Surveying
Mine Electrical Engineering Management
Mine Mechanical Engineering Management
Trainee Driller
