New resources and infrastructure skill sets under development

SkillsDMC, the national industry skills council for the resources and infrastructure sectors, is proposing to include a series of Skill Sets in the new Resources and Infrastructure Training Package, which is currently under development.

The proposed Skill Sets are being developed to meet a number of requirements including some related to occupational health and safety, regulation and licensing.

The proposed Skills Sets include:

  • Leading Hand
  • Rouseabout Off Shore Oil and Gas
  • Leasehand On Shore Oil and Gas
  • Underground Ventilation
  • Site Safety Coordinator
  • Repair and Maintenance of Off-Road Vehicle Wheels and Tyres
  • Monitoring Heavy Vehicle Operations
  • Surface Shotfiring
  • Underground Shotfiring
  • Mine Mechanical Engineering
  • Mine Electrical Engineering
  • Mine Surveying
  • Mine Electrical Engineering Management
  • Mine Mechanical Engineering Management
  • Trainee Driller
