Forum on support workers in health and community services - Melbourne
A forum will be held in
The forum, hosted by the Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council, represents the first opportunity for health professionals, workforce policy makers, training providers and employers to share knowledge and case studies, and discuss issues surrounding policy and skills development in this area.
A diverse range of speakers, will explore the range of challenges and opportunities for growing our workforce through better utilisation of support worker roles.
Presentations will define policy and practice leadership requirements at the national state and enterprise level and challenge delegates to explore new approaches to enhanced workforce productivity.
Issues that will be debated and discussed at this forum include:
- the impact of national licensure and accreditation on the workforce reform agenda
- opening up association memberships to support new workers
- ensuring competence for delegated functions
- strategies to make the change stick at the workplace level
- accreditation and improved pathways to professional qualifications
- implementing school based apprenticeships as a recruitment practice.
