Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council conference - Adelaide
The annual Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council national conference will be held on 15 and 16 October 2008 in Adelaide.
The conference, Making a difference, will incorporate presentations covering international, national and local perspectives under the following themes:
- From Policy to Practice
- Capacity Building - People and Systems
- Innovation and Collaboration - Stories From the Field
- Productivity Places Program.
It is expected that 500 national delegates will attend the conference comprising decision-makers and key training and workforce development staff from both the community services and health industries. Conference participants will explore the Skilling Australia for the future Policy, and discussions will be focused on how to make the Education Revolution happen for both industries.
The following keynote speakers have been announced:
- Andrea Rowe, Chief Executive Officer of Skills for Care, who will give an international perspective of skill development in the community services sector
- John Kirwan, Principal of John Kirwan Consulting, whose presentation will challenge the direction and pace of health workforce reform in Australia
- Dr Rob Simons, from The Smith Family, who will present an evidence-based program, model development and demonstration for innovation to show how systems change and capacity leverage for social inclusion can be driven.
