New Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing set up in QLD
The former Queensland Office of Gaming Regulation (QOGR), Liquor Licensing Division and the Office of Racing are integrating to form the new Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing (OLGR), effective from 1 July 2008.
In the short term, the Office of Racing will continue to report to the Deputy Under Treasurer, to enable an initial focus on the integration of gambling and liquor licensing and compliance processes. By 1 July 2009, the Office of Racing will be fully integrated into OLGR.
All licensing and regulation functions conducted by the former authorities will now be administered by the new Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing.
As the integration progresses, stakeholders will be kept informed of changes which affect each different area. Disruption to stakeholders will be kept to a minimum during the change process and the Office will strive to deliver on the service benefits that will come from integration.
The QOGR and Liquor Licensing newsletters will no longer be published. The new OLGR newsletter will be officially launched in September 2008. Please visit www.olgr.qld.gov.au to subscribe.
