Training Package Development Handbook now online

The Training Package Development Handbook, the document which outlines the policy for developing nationally endorsed training packages, is now available online.

The handbook website has been developed to simplify access to the policy for developing a training package, including those areas related to the incorporation of regulatory and licensing requirements.

The online handbook is primarily designed for use by training package developers, however it also provides other stakeholders, including licensing and regulatory authorities, with useful information about the training package development processes.

The site also links to a range of other information including guidelines for developing support material and incorporating occupational health and safety into training packages, as well as links to further information.

The new online version of the handbook will replace the previous PDF versions - the September 2007 version of the handbook is the last to be produced in that format.

The online Training Package Development Handbook policy applies to all new training package development work commenced after 1 April 2008. Until 1 July 2008, the policy requirements specified in the September 2007 version of the handbook can continue to apply to work that is being transitioned to the new training package development and endorsement processes. After 1 July 2008 all training package development is required to be consistent with the training package policy on the website.

Changes to National Quality Council policy will be highlighted in the 'Latest News' box when they occur. Training package developers are encouraged to bookmark the Version Modification page and check regularly for updates.
