SA Training Sector Forum 2008 - Adelaide
The South Australian Training Sector Forum will be held in Adelaide on 26-27 June.
Hosted by the South Australian Department of Further Education, Employment, Science and Technology, this year's forum will focus on two themes linked to the Skills Strategy for South Australia's Future announced in March 2008:
- Improving participation in employment and education:
- engaging people not in the workforce or training
- providing career development initiatives
- supporting skilled migrants to enter the workforce
- engaging industry in providing pathways to employment for students
- encouraging workforce development
- Raising the skills and productivity of the existing workforce:
- identifying what industry wants from training providers
- supporting more highly skilled and productive workplaces through engaging enterprises in nationally recognised training
- accelerating access to higher skills through effective and efficient recognition of prior learning initiatives
- using training packages to facilitate workforce mobility and career change
- raising the skills of the education and training sector workforce.
The event's program includes four keynote sessions and 35 workshops showcasing current initiatives and research in vocational education and training.
