Recognition assessment workshops - National

The Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council is holding recognition assessment workshops in selected capital cities during June and August.

These two-day professional development workshops focus on the skills required to deliver quality recognition assessment. Both are specifically designed for registered training organisations delivering training in the community services and health industries; however the workshops are relevant to delivery in other industries in the VET sector.

Day one of the workshop is on mapping job roles and gathering evidence. This day will cover:

  • recognition assessment
  • mapping job roles to qualifications and mapping key performance indicators to units of competency
  • mapping job roles to Australian Qualification Framework levels
  • gathering and validating workplace evidence.

Day two of the workshop is on developing resources and assessment tools. This day will cover:

  • developing Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) compliant assessment tools
  • crafting best practice essential knowledge questions and answers
  • building scenarios to meet essential knowledge and skills
  • undertaking validation (validating assessment tools) to the AQTF standard.

The workshops are open to all levels of assessors, with sessions specifically tailored to the skill level and knowledge of the participants. Assessors attending these workshops will also comply with the new AQTF standards regarding ongoing professional development opportunities for staff.
