New small business management course for trade graduates


TradeBiz, a new nationally recognised business qualification, designed for tradespeople, has been launched in Queensland.

The course, which brings together trade and business experts, is being delivered by Brisbane North Institute of TAFE in partnership with Construction Skills Queensland and SkillsTech Australia.

The TradeBiz program has been designed specifically to provide qualified tradespeople with the skills required to operate their own business.

A pilot program was undertaken in 2007 in which 23 electrical tradespeople achieved a Certificate IV in Business (Small Business Management). The full TradeBiz program is available to tradespeople across Queensland.

TradeBiz meets the business licensing requirements for the Electrical Safety Office and Queensland Building Services Authority.
