Licensing Line News turns 50!
This month marks fifty editions of Licensing Line News and six years of providing occupational licensing information to licensing authorities and the vocational education and training sector.
Born out of the Licensing Issues Project, the first Licensing Line Newsletter was a two-page email attachment. In six years the scope and demand for quality licensing information has led to the development of a dedicated website with resources designed to simplify the sometimes complex issues involved in integrating occupational licensing and vocational education and training.
Licensing Line News is also an important point of reference for information on mutual recognition and licence harmonisation. The Council of Australian Governments has set an agenda for achieving full and effective mutual recognition for all vocationally trained occupations by 31 December 2008. This means it is more important than ever for regulators and vocational education and training professionals to keep up to date with licensing issues.
While the scale and technology of Licensing Line News has changed, our goal has not. We will continue to strive to ensure Licensing Line News remains Australia's leading resource for occupational licensing and regulation information. Why not visit our website to take full advantage of the information on offer?
Thank you to all our subscribers for your continued support. We look forward to making Licensing Line News an increasingly relevant and useful resource for our readers.
