Your feedback welcome - training and assessment training package TAA04
As part of its commitment to continuous improvement, Innovation and Business Skills Australia consulted throughout 2006 on the Training and Assessment training package (TAA04) to tailor the package to current and future industry needs.
TA404 is an important training package as the competence of trainers and assessors underpins the effectiveness of the vocational education and training system. It aims to service a wide spectrum of training and assessment contexts.
The consultation brought a great deal of comment about the package, with three areas emerging as needing particular attention:
- the needs of enterprise and workplace trainers
- strengthening presentation skills, coaching, mentoring and training needs analysis
- recognition of prior learning and assessment requirements
In response to feedback, Innovation and Business Skills Australia has initiated the TAA Enhancement Project to draft new units and revise existing ones, develop skill sets and strengthen learning requirements around recognition of prior learning. Key dates for the project are:
Consultation phase: 14 July-24 August 2007
Validation phase: 15 August-21 September 2007
Submission for endorsement: 1 October 2007
Innovation and Business Skills Australia is eager to receive feedback about the proposed changes to ensure they address the identified gaps.
