Australian Quality Training Framework 2007 - update
The Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) has been revised to improve the quality of training and assessment in the vocational education and training sector, with changes coming into effect from 1 July 2007.
Some of the principles underpinning the changes include:
- reducing the regulatory burden
- streamlining and standardising processes for national consistency
- ensuring stakeholder confidence in quality skills outcomes
- continuous improvement of training and assessment
Preparation of supporting resources for AQTF 2007 is continuing and draft documents are currently available for consultation.
These documents include:
- National Compliance Guidelines
- National Guidelines for Responding to Complaints about Vocational Education and Training Quality
Comments and suggestions about these documents should be sent to dfeest.quality@saugov.sa.gov.au
The deadline for input into the consultation process is 18 May 2007.
Draft revised National Standards for Accredited Courses and Standards for State and Territory Course Accrediting Bodies are also available for consultation. These standards have been revised as part of the changes being introduced through AQTF 2007. Comments can be made by email to vqa@edumail.vic.gov.au up until 18 May 2007.
