AQTF 2007 - what does it mean to registered training organisations?

The Australian Quality Training Framework has been revised, and these improved quality arrangements will come into effect in Australia from 1 July 2007 under the auspices of AQTF 2007.

AQTF 2007 focuses on the quality of skill outcomes, builds a stronger focus on continuous improvement and risk management, and gives registered training organisations an option for recognition of higher levels of achievement. These changes meet industry expectations and contemporary quality and business management models.

Registered training organisations will benefit from the improvements brought about by AQTF 2007. Outcomes-focussed audits will allow registered training organisations to focus more on the quality of the outcomes of their training and assessment, which in turn will give industry greater confidence in the outcomes of training.

The new arrangements encourage greater participation of licensing and industry regulatory bodies in ensuring the quality of training, and will also achieve greater national consistency through new standards for state and territory registering bodies.

Information sessions are being held across Australia through to early April 2007 to provide an overview of the new arrangements and explain what they mean for registered training organisations, clients and stakeholders.

The information sessions will cover:

  • revised essential standards for registration
  • an outcomes-based approach to audit
  • the opportunity to have high-quality performance formally recognised
