Code of conduct for Victorian liquor licensees

Packaged liquor licensees in Victoria are now required to comply with a new code of conduct as a condition of their licence.

The code was developed by licensees and their association, the Office of the Small Business Commissioner and the Director of Liquor Licensing.

It aims to minimise harm arising from the misuse and abuse of alcohol, to facilitate the development of a diversity of licensed facilities reflecting community expectations, and to contribute to the responsible development of the liquor and hospitality industries.

It addresses matters including the responsible service of alcohol, behaviour regarding minors on the premises and sale of alcohol over the internet.

For more information contact Consumer Affairs Victoria on 1300 65 03 67 or view the code at the Consumer Affairs Victoria website at www.consumer.vic.gov.au  (Select 'liquor' > 'responsibilities and liquor laws' > 'liquor laws' > 'Code of Conduct for packaged liquor licences'.)
