Licensing line national project - update
Road to transition - Improved pathways for operator certification
The Transition Working Group recently met to further discuss risks and strategies that could be adopted to integrate the occupational health and safety licensing requirements into the vocational education and training sector.
The key risks that have been identified in this process have been grouped into the following broad categories:
- ineffective stakeholder communication;
- ineffective process management;
- assessment process;
- competency standards;
- legislative issues.
The findings of the group are being compiled in the report Road to transition - Improved pathways for operator certification. It is expected that this report will be available after September.
The next edition of this newsletter will outline the components of the optimum approach to address certification within the vocational education and training system.
It is expected that an information session will be conducted in each capital city after the release of the report for trainers, assessors, regulators, registered training organisations and training authorities to outline the key findings and outcomes of the Transition Working Group.
